Using Tag Scores

What is being shown on the homepage?
The Tag Scores homepage shows the three most popular games for every console. Each of these games has the three most popular scores listed underneath. On the left side of the page, there is a listing of all the consoles that Tag Scores currently supports. Below that is information about Tag Scores users, including Top Tag Users, Newest Users and a list of Moderators.
How do I create an account?
Creating an account on Tag Scores is easy and takes only a few minutes. From the homepage, click the "Create an Account" link at the top right. You will be directed to an account creation form. Fill in your desired username, a password used to access your account, an active email address, your birthday, fill out the security check and agree to the Terms of Service to continue. A verification email will be sent to the email specified before which will contain a link. Follow this link to finalize your Tag Scores account.
I can't login to my account.
First, check that your username and password are being typed correctly. Your username is not case-sensitive, but your password is. If you are still unable to login, click the "Forgot your password?" link located on the login page. This will send your password to the email address used when signing up for Tag Scores. If a problem still persists, please send an email to contact@tagscores.com and we will work to fix the problem.
My profile says my account is inactive. What does that mean?
The most likely cause of this message is that you haven't finalized your Tag Scores account. When creating an account, a message is sent to the email address you used when signing up. You need to follow the link contained in the email to finalize your account.

The less likely reason is that your account has been deactived for a reason which may include spamming, harrassing other users or other malicious activity. If you think this is the case and it was done in error, please send an email to contact@tagscores.com and we will help to fix the problem.

How do I use the search feature?
Simply type in what you want to search for in the search box located towards the top right of any page. You will be directed to a search results page which will show any relevant scores, games, systems or users that related to your query.

How do I add a console?
After logging in to Tag Scores, click the "Submissions" link and then the "Add a New Console" link. Simply type the full name of the console in the text box. Below this box, a list of similar consoles will appear. This is done to help make sure that the same console isn't submitted more than once.
How do I add a game?
After logging in to Tag Scores, click the "Submissions" link and then the "Add a New Game" link. First, select what console the game is for. Then type in the name of the game in the text box below. Below the text box, a list of similar games will appear. This is done to help make sure that the same game isn't submitted more than once.
How do I add a score?
After logging in to Tag Scores, click the "Submissions" link and then the "Add a New Score" link. First, select what console the score was achieved on. Next, select the title of the game that the score is for. If the title doesn't exist, you will need to add the game by clicking the "Game" button under the ADD heading.

Now determine what type of record your score is. Some examples include high score, fastest lap time, longest play time, game completion percentage, etc. If the record type exists, select it from the drop down menu. If not, click the "New" radio button. Some additional information is needed now that you're creating a new type of record for this video game. Type in the name of the record type in the text box, then select if the score shoud be formatted as a number or time and how it should be sorted, either from high to low or low to high.

When entering the actual record, you only need to type in numbers and a decimal point, if needed. Tag Scores will automatically format the number depending on if it's a time or number. For example, if you have a fastest lap time of 04:32 (four minutes, thirty two seconds) you would type "0432" into the record field. Similarly, if you had a high score of 4,033,843 you would type "4033843" into the record field.

Lastly, you'll need to provide proof of your high score in either picture or video format. Users can either upload a picture directly to Tag Scores or upload the picture somewhere else and link it to their score.

We recommend using any of the following sites (if you don't use Tag Scores for your picture upload):

Image hosting:
ImageShack
Photobucket
Google's Picasa
Video hosting:
YouTube
Google Video
Yahoo! Video
I made a mistake. How do I edit my submissions?
